Bird Lady comes to School

Image
Mrs Watson and Mrs Mackenzie arranged for Sarah Ward to come to school with some of her show birds. She came with some canaries,  cockatiels, budgies, a quail, a lovebird, finches, and a pigeon.  We even got to pat the pigeon, which was pretty cool. Thank you Sarah for sharing your birds and your knowledge with us.

Inventors

This term the Junior School are inventing bird feeders for our feathered friends. We have walked around the school investigating what birds we have on the school grounds.  We have seen magpies, blackbirds and a few sparrows. In class we have a display of birds that we know and birds that we find in our gardens at home.  (Please help us look out for birds in our gardens. Our job is to design a bird feeder that will attract birds into our gardens at home but also at school. Due to the cancellation of our aviary visit, Tania brought her two birds in.  Their names are Salt and P epper.
